They’ve spent half a day securing food and water already and waited until now, when most of the other teams would be ceasing their activities, to go out an hunt for scrolls, a plan they decided on together. We see how Team Gai is doing in the forest. Naruto 30 (The Sharingan Revived: Dragon-Flame Jutsu!) The second phase of the chunin exams begins, and the teams all enter the Forest of Death. Naruto 27 (The Chūnin Exam Stage 2: The Forest of Death) Tenten helps Lee cheat by reflecting the answers to him in a mirror. Naruto 24 (Start Your Engines: The Chūnin Exam Begins!) Meanwhile, there is a brief scene where Tenten, Lee, and Neji scrutinize Naruto’s hot-headed declaration that he’s going to beat everyone there. Kakashi remembers Gai’s advice not to enter his team into the exam yet. Naruto 23 (Genin Takedown! All Nine Rookies Face Off!) Gai introduces himself to Kakashi’s students. Lee challenges Sasuke to a fight, and Gai breaks it up in style. Naruto 22 (Chūnin Challenge: Rock Lee vs. Initially, the three of them try to pretend to be weak, but Lee’s curiosity gets the better of him once he meets Team 7.
